i been on TT for a little over a month and have been posting and reading FAQ's almost daily.then i thought i never told you guys about my self.... well my name is Daryl im 21 year old retired veteran from MA.im married and my wife and i have a 4 month old son JJ.in jan im attending UTI in norwood MA for super street and aftermarket performance.ive been to iraq germany and africa. ive driven many tuner cars in these places including 240sx, r32 4 door and GT-R. but lets start with how i got my Z. i was in iraq during dec08-jan09 and was blown up by a IED. my left legs nerves were badly damaged doctors told me i might not walk again but i knew i would.after i got hit i went back to the states to see my fam. during my leave in MA my uncle passed and he drove a 90 2+2 auto. i always talked with him about how we could fix it and go to time attack events, but sadly we never got a chance.some how i was left the Z, it was great i had something to remember him by and i vowed to do what we talked about for so many years.weeks after getting the z i got a set of falken torque 5 rims and falken fk452 tires almost new(225-40-18). having just come from iraq with no bills and single at the time i had some $$ saved up so i bought some mods.i bought megan front and rear struts,new brakes rotors and pads,high flow cats,megan cat-back exhaust,injen intake,CF hood,new starter and auto flywheel.the Z had alot of work to be done the trans was almost gone so i tried not to drive her much in a year i only put 3k on her but she had 178k.so last spring i saved up enough $$ and did enough research on NA-TT and AT-MT swaps. i found a deal on the MT swap and parts(900 shiped for MT 1 pc DS shifter/fork/boot/knob,pedal,clutch flywheel and CMC) and got a local shop to do it.thats where i am today waiting on parts to come in to finish the swap before winter and get her ready for next jan when i go to UTI i plan on rebuilding the NA before swapping for TT. thanks for reading and im glad to be on TT.NET
